Who is he?
Tomer Jierno - Custodial Services
The business card is made of a cheap synthetic film and is scratched and stained from repeated use, but she can still read the name printed on the card in bold black font.
Tomer Jierno - Custodial Services
A janitor! A second wave of nausea makes Samantha double over in the elevator. It was a janitor who was groping her, who had climbed on top of her and ? she felt filthy. More than anything else she wants a place to wash and change out of these clothes. She could probably still go back to the to the nurse?s station and report the attack. But she also knows that any investigation of the **** would include following her as she fled the scene and her tampering with the elevator controls.
Just what would she say if the investigating officers ask her about that? How much trouble she?d be in if they saw that? No sooner than she had the thought than the answer pops into her consciousness - Bypassing the security protocols on a government owned building was a felony offense with a penalty of no less than a standard cycle in a penal colony - ?Thanks.? Samantha mutters sarcastically as she feels the elevator start to move smoothly but rapidly downward. ?You could have mentioned that before you hotwired the call box.?
Taking advantage of what little time she had, Samantha tucks her shirt neatly into the belted trousers and roll up the cuffs so they no longer drag on the floor. She looks almost respectable except for her shoeless feet and the way her braless breasts jiggle under the shirt. The car slows and she hears the ?ding? announcing her arrival on floor 038-D. The elevator doors open and a tired looking orderly steps into the small room punching 122-S into the keypad. He glances at her again this time taking in her curves and pretty face.
?Hi there.? He says with a smile. ?Are you new to the night shift?? He asks and then adds ?I?m sure I?d remember seeing you if you came in to clean up after one of my patients.? Did all men become blathering idiots when they found themselves face to face with a pretty woman? Then again when she remembers her reflection in the elevator doors she wonders if she is being unfair.
?Could you help me?? She asks sweetly and is hopeful when she sees his immediate attentiveness. ?I?m new here, and I one of the nurses sent me to get one of the patient?s belongings.? She shrugs her shoulders unconsciously lifting her breasts tantalizingly ?But she spoke so fast that I can?t remember where she said to go??
?And your link is down.? The young man finishes for her, nodding in sympathy. ?Mine went out last year and I thought I?d never get reconnected.? Samantha smiles not knowing what to say, but she finds that the smile works just fine.
?Let me help you.? He adds and for a second his eyes become unfocused. ?Patient?s belongings are in the basement floor 000?? he pauses ??what?s the patient?s name??
?That?s just it,? Samantha tells the orderly remembering the Doctor?s words from earlier ?she is unidentified, no chip, they put into a room on floor 145.? She notices the puzzled look on the orderly's face and continues quickly before he asks any awkward questions. ?You?ve been so helpful, I hate to have to go back to the head nurse and tell her I forgot what she told me.? She touches him on his arm giving him a quick squeeze along with another smile.
?No problem, uh,? He pauses waiting for her name.
?Rhiain? Samantha provides the first name that pops into her head ?Rhiain Higgins.? As soon as she said the name Samantha realizes that?s exactly who she is. Maybe not the Higgins part, but she was Rhiain, the beautiful thief she generated with the dark haired stranger?s dice sometime that seemed long ago.
?Cool, no problem Rhiain, I?m Thern Killgan.? He tells her, ?and your Jane Doe?s possessions are in a locker in the basement storage units.? As he speaks the elevator stops moving again. ?This is my floor?? he pauses in the doorway clearly hoping for some reason to stay.
?Thanks again Thern.? Samantha tells him sweetly. ?Maybe I?ll look you up once my link is up.? His face lights up just as the doors close between them. That went better than she could have hoped for.
Samantha pushes a random floor number and while the elevator begins to move she considers her options. She could just run, get out the hospital while it was still night time, but with only the few possessions in her pockets, how far could she get? Would anyone believe her story if she tries to explain she is Samantha Baxter from Earth. If she had her possessions she could at least back up her claims with the cell phone, watch and other items, and to get those she has to head for the basement.
On the other hand her best chance of getting away from this Hellish institution is to leave now, while she still can.
Does she get out while she can, or try to get her belongings first?
