To the lake

The park bordered the lake so it was only a few minutes walk through the sparse trees and trails before opening up to a small body of water. Katie, Jake and Ryan spent the few minutes exchanging pleasantries, Jake and Ryan glancing at each other wondering if this was actually happening. A hot girl, met only minutes before, joining them for a swim in the lake.

Despite the warm summer sun, nobody had the same idea to cool off. The lake was empty and the few park dwellers around were much further away in the park centre.

The boys were already stripping their T-shirts off and, down to just shorts, were diving in. AT this moment, it dawned on Katie that she had nothing to swim in.
