Timeline and Important Events
These resource pages are to be considered Work-in-Progress. Expect to see more detail added to them as I progress plots and add more details to the developing setting.
Timeline of Major Events
1-100 Fenil: The Twilight Century. A time of prosperity for all races, though notably debauched.
101-1289 Fenil: The Mage Era. A time during which all known civilizations were either directly ruled or indirectly dominated by sorceror-kings and necromancers. The Fenil 'First Years' ended with their downfall, which resulted in the sundering of the Dvergisha region and the sinking of Arentis--the Elven ley site.
1-608 Uril: As the reign of the mages ends, most of the civilizations of Thenard focus on building new kingdoms. Many rise and fall, but there is still little in the way of inter-island trade or exploration, since the ley sites are almost completely unused.
609-858 Uril: Most of the races of Thenard develop lasting kingdoms and dynasties, and prosper enough to trade with other islands. Early on, the human Erganian Empire spreads into the Dvergisha islands, overthrowing and capturing the dwarven colonies there but weakening its position on Ruhn.
859-906 Uril: The Bolt Wars. The dwarf Argillian Tetrarchy uses advanced siege weapons to defend its mainland, but the Erganian Empire takes much of their western coast before a treaty is signed ending hostilities. It is rumored they used powerful mages to overcome the dwarves' superior weapons.
907-930 Uril: The Strickening. The Erganian Empire has had its dwarven lands contested by the human and profane race-dominated Starkhast Kingdom. The conservative human Kheran Republic manages to hold the Ruhn ley site against both of the opposing human kingdoms. The Arisorb Kingdom spreads beyond its island for the first time, raiding and conquering half of the Erganian Empire's coastal holdings on Pyris.
931-1005 Uril: The Reform. Weakened by campaigns abroad and the increased pressure of kingdoms digging into the Erganian Empire’s holdings, a coup burns the capital of the nation and declares itself the Empire of Horth, a Prior of the Primacy who brought the empire to heel through a campaign supported by the devout and the far-flung provinces of Ruhn. Other races form kingdoms on Ruhn while the Empire of Horth consolidates power and batters back its neighboring human kingdoms, including remnants of the old Erganian order which are now based on its overseas holdings on Dvergisha.
1006-1165 Uril: The Twilight. The Empire of Horth has all but wiped out the Starkhast Kingdom, pushed the Erganian remnant to the coast of Ruhn, and threatens to absorb the Kheran Republic.
