Through the tunnel

Both women agreed to find out where the mysterious hole in the wall, or tunnel led to. It was probably better to move on than it was to sit still. Besides, they were both a little more than curious about what a tunnel was doing under a bus station.

Nicole remembered she had a couple of emergency lights in her backpack. She took off her backpack and rummaged through it until she found them. "Now we'll at least be able to see where we're going" she said, handing one to Sierra. They crawled through the opening, side by side since there was enough room, and down into the tunnel.

The tunnel continued in a gentle downward slope for quite some time before it finally leveled off. It seemed like there was no end to it. Both girls were starting to feel tired, so they decided to stop and rest for a while. Using their backpacks as pillows they stretched out next to each other and went to sleep.

While Nicole and Sierra slept in the tunnel, the bus station opened up for business as usual. It was Abasi and Folami's job to make sure the station was open for business each morning without fail. The station was a good cover for the smugglers who payed them quite handsomely when shipments of **** and arms came in on the afternoon buses. It was a simple operation. The luggage that was to be set aside was always tagged with green tags, and always locked. Once received, it would be set aside like unclaimed baggage, then put below through the trap door after the station closed. From there it was shipped through a series of tunnels by electric cart, which was usually driven by one person who would take it to the main underground storage facility where it would be resold, or redistributed.

Today Abasi and Folami were expecting a rather large shipment on the afternoon buses. They would be receiving high tech drone parts, enough to build about a dozen drones. Neither one of them was yet aware of the fact that the trap door behind the counter was going to present them with one, big problem which was caused by the two girls who were still asleep in the tunnels below.
