The women talk

There wasn't much set after dinner. Janno was brooding and the others were feeling bad for him. Kassi heard about his battles with ogres and how he lost his friends previously and she had told at least the druid Dalia about what she knew.

Afterwards, Glennon walked up to the fighter and said, "I think I'll explore a bit further down this cave. There is a crevice that I believe I can sneak into. It could be a shortcut to the other side of the hill."

Janno nodded. "That sounds good. If that is the case, we can get to the tower with plenty of daylight left tomorrow."

Glennon walked down toward the crevice, away from the group. As he did as, Kassi glanced over to the halfling, thankful that he saved her earlier today. She cast her eyes back at Janno who still was sitting silently and staring at the fire. Kassi had heard about battle rage, but until she saw Janno sprint past her and right at the ogre, uttering a blood-curdling scream no less, she never had seen it in person. She knew the fighter was feeling terrible over what could have happened to the party, and possibly even to the ranger herself. Janno couldn't even look at her right now and had only talked to Dalia and Glennon at this point.

Kassi glanced over at Dalia, who was pulling items out of her herbs kit. She walked over to the druid. "I don't think Janno is in a talkative mood at the moment."

Dalia smiled at her as she continued to gather her remedies. "No, he didn't do a smart thing today and he is honest enough to know it. He understands the responsibilities of being in a group and he knows he let himself get caught up in something."

The druid finished rearranging her kit as Kassi frowned slightly. Dalia went on, "I think I better check on his wounds now. I gave him some lotion on his ribs to help heal them as well as that bruise, but I better check and see if there are no long-term effects from the shots he took."

Kassi nodded. "That's just as well. I don't think Janno is comfortable talking to me. And I'm feeling a bit nervous of watching that club raised in front of my eyes. Maybe I should follow Glennon and see if he's all right?"

Dalia turned and gazed serenely at the ranger. Then she briefly took Kassi's hand in hers. "You have your own shares of feelings and emotions to work out. Don't worry. Perhaps you would like to help while I tend to Janno and let him know that you bear no hard feelings. You're slightly bruised, but that's it. Or if you like, after I tend to our fighter, the two of us and go off and talk about how you are feeling, if you need someone to chat with."

Kassi stared at the druid's calm and older face. Suddenly, she was glad that the other woman was there. "Well, that sounds tempting...then again....."
