The village comes first

Sulruun nodded to the male eagle and grabbed her own bucket and quickly rushed to the lake and scooped up some water. She then rushed back to one of the huts and tossed water on the fire.

The flames weakened and started to die down as she repeated the process of getting water and dumping it quickly on the hut she choose to work with. Once the fire of that hut had been taken care of, Sulruun directed her attention to another of the many huts that were in flames.

She was soon joined by other eagles who sought to save their village, while another small group was sent to find the chief on the island across the lake. Sulruun continued her efforts of fighting the fires that burned all over the village.

It took almost two hours to get all the fires in the village out, some flames lingered in the forest but would soon be dealt with quickly. Sulruun dropped her bucket and wiped soot from her face. She sighed and panted as the village cheered in victory.

Vala landed next to Sulruun and hugged her sister close and said "sister! Your a damned hero!"

Sulruun didn't reply, she was to out of breath to say anything as she walked along looking at the damage done. Most of the huts were still in tact, but a few that had been hit early on had not been savable.

Sulruun walked into her own hut which no longer had a roof and grabbed a cloth and wiped the soot off of her face, neck, arms, and legs. She then unbuttoned her vest and took it off, revealing a plain cloth bra that hid her bust.

The female eagle wiped off her chest with the cloth and shook her wings out. It was then that the male eagle from before stepped into her hut with a thankful expression "miss Sulruun, I am thankful that you aidded me."

Sulruun got a good look at him as she nodded, he looked strong with a sword strapped to his belt. His feathers were a light silver mixed with dots of black. He had a black beak too and was dressed in heavy leather armor.

Sulruun gave him a smile and replied "I did what was best to save the village."

"I know you did, and I think it was the best choice. As captain of our Talon Warriors, I'd like to personally invite you into our order."

Sulruun blinked a few times and looked him in the eyes, she could tell he was quite sure she was for the job. The female eagle shrugged and replied "I'd be honored."

"Great! And there's one other thing..." The male eagle took a step forward and used his hand to lift Sulruun's beak a bit. He leaned in and kissed her gently. The female eagle blushed and slowly kissed him back.

Then she stepped away and shook her head "umm... I don't even know your name."

"Malnik."

He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close to him and kissed her again, this time Sulruun kissed back more eagerly...
