The unmasked truth

Lady Skye still wore her mask. She still had respect for the code of heroines and villains, and that was secret identities were kept secret no matter what. But Lady Skye dabbled with the idea of breaking that code when she became infatuated with Miss Patriot. She wanted to know everything about her, which is why she became Lady Skye in the first place. In the back of her mind, the only way she could ever have Miss Patriot was to become her arch enemy.

Alex watched intently as her arch enemy slowly turned to face her, showing her true identity for the very first time. A look of surprise washed over her as she stared at the bare face of Lady Skye for the first time. She smiled as there before her stood her best friend from her earliest childhood days. "Skylar!" she cried out pleasantly. She could no longer contain the joy she felt. "I thought you were dead!"

Tears of joy streamed down Skylar's face. "I knew there was a reason why I became infatuated with you as Miss Patriot. I never dreamed that you would be her, Alex. I'm sure you never thought I would be your arch enemy. But here we are, the naked truth, so to speak." She kissed Alex on the lips. "Release her" she said to the plant. the plant grudgingly complied as it loosened its hold on Alex, and gentle set her down on the ground.

Skylar took Alex into her arms. "I thought you were dead too, Alex. I had no idea you had survived that terrible accident. The last thing I remember as the cruise ship was sinking was you being sucked under the water. I tried so hard to find you. You were everything to me Alex. I never wanted to lose you, never wanted to let go of you. I know none of our parents survived, and I thought I'd never see you again. We need to have a long talk. There's a lot we need to catch up on."
