Chapter 13
by bsnick
Does anyone come by before they return?
The truck is stolen before they return
It feels like you lie there for days waiting for them. Every little sound makes you gasp in fright, certain that a face will peer in at you. A man coming home from work, a garbage man, maybe a homeless man delighted to find a woman who can't say no.
A moan escapes you, one that you try to tell yourself is from despair, but the more you imagine what could happen, how you could be taken by anyone who wanted you, the more you twitch and groan, until...
A miniscule movement snaps you out of your thoughts, puzzling you. It felt almost like the truck had dipped just a little. A slamming sound draws a gasp of surprise.
That didn't sound like the apartment door, you think, it sounded more like...
With a coughing sputter that soon turns into a roar you hear and feel the truck's engine come to life.
"Hey, who're you....?" A voice calls, and you recognize Sam.
"What're you doing?" Bill cries out.
"We put a deposit down on that truck!" Tom yells.
For a moment you can't help but think 'Figures, he's more concerned about the truck!' Then you realize, as you see the walls of the alley quickly speed past outside the truck, that if all three of them are out there, then someone else must be driving the truck.
"Oh God," you groan, shivering in fright as you stare out the back of the truck, seeing buildings and cars pull away into the distance.
At first you lie there numbly, but then as you notice cars driving behind you take action. Pulling on the bed frame proves as useless as it was before so you wave your legs wildly, calling out for help. The first couple of cars don't even seem to notice you. The next one has a few guys in it who eventually notice the flailing legs and realize they're attached to a girl. With a whoop they hang out the windows, calling out crude suggestions, taking pictures with their cell phones. Not at all the response you were hoping for, so you stop moving, hoping to discourage them.
Soon enough your lack of co-operation bores them, and with a few final heckles they make a turn.
The next few cars prove just as fruitful. The people either look horrified or assume you're doing this for kicks. Your hope of being rescued or seeing police lights seems to be fading...
Are your hopes dashed? Where are you being taken, and what awaits?
