The stump I didn't see

I ran as fast as I could, always looking back to see if I could keep or increase my lead. While looking back I did not see a tree stump, a firm kick against it with my foot and I went down hard

My lead was gone, my foot was hurting and worst of all six girls dived on me like mad hyenas. I heard Rachel shout, "We've got her. Two of you take her feet, two of her arms, and we're taking her to a hidden spot in the woods. Oh and one of you taking Vanity too.
