Chapter 4 by ldnldn ldnldn

What's next?

The start of Neve´s horrible morning

Neve reached the coffee shop early. She sat on the terrace and ordered herself a latte while she waited. As she drank the hot liquid, she opened her briefcase to examine her portfolio. Everything looked great, as it had to. The client was very important; she couldn’t afford to lose her if she wanted to make rent this month.

Rent… such a horrible concept, one of the many things she came to hate in the human world. Neve sighed. She missed when she could just wave her hands and transmute herself a decent cup of coffee, or send a tornado flying to her landlady.

As if summoned by her thoughts, the wind began blowing particularly fast. Enough to knock Neve’s plastic cup right over her navel, and drench the woman’s stomach in hot coffee. “Ah!” Neve jumped up from her chair.

The wind didn’t let up, it seemed to be flying in a whirlwind around Neve. Her dress fluttered madly, the hem riding ever upwards. In no time at all, the fabric was already above Neve’s cute belly button and showing off her choice of pink underwear for the day.

“Agh. Come on! What’s going on?” she asked, but the wind only intensified. It was so strong that it resisted her attempts to push down her dress. The garment flew past her face, obscuring her vision.

“Nice panties sister!” A young voice mocked Neve from behind.

“For crying out loud!” Great, her hair was a mess, there was a coffee stain on her dress, and she just flashed her panties to the whole block. What a way to start her morning... At least her prospective client hasn’t arrived yet.

The wind dropped in intensity, allowing Neve to push her dress back down. Her jaw dropped when she saw the stern businesswoman staring at her on the other side of the table. “O-h hi there, miss Couturiere. R-ready for our meeting?”

“Hah! Look at her squirm,” laughed Suzy. “That was great fun, although I don’t understand why she is so bothered by a little gust of wind.”

“Well, humans usually find it embarrassing if other people stare at them when they aren’t wearing clothes,” Kim replied.

Suzy shrugged. “Weird. Although if I was made out of meat, I guess I would also be embarrassed about it. What’s next?”

Kim thought about it. Should she step on the pedal and hurry it along, or go slow? What should happen next to Neve?

What does Kim suggest?
