The shovel?

A little unconventional choice but you didn't have time to question your choice.

You run out of the barn and swing the shovel horizontal motion and hit the pigkin square in the face, knocking him back and off of Lillia and onto his fat ass.

Thinking quickly before he can alert the others you thrust the shovel into his unsuspecting gullet. Blood squirts out of his neck and sprays your face. You stand there a moment in shock as the pigkin bleeds out in front of you. This was your first time killing anything even if it was to save another.

Lillia looks up at you grateful. "Oh, thank you so much Evie! Thank you!" Lillia nearly shouts in gratitude. Unfortunately the nearby pigkin heard her. And start swarming. You can hear their snorts as they close in.

Lillia looks at you. "I'm sorry, go run to the trees Evie, I couldn't live with myself if I got you captured or worse. I will lead them away from you!" She kissed your forehead and pushes you out of sight of the pigkin.

"Hey you smelly pork fucks come and get me you ugly shit sacks!" Lillia sreams at them as she runs the other way.

You pray to the gods that they watch over Lillia and protect her.

By the gods! You need to to get out of here quickly! You run through your village one last time fighting tears in your eyes as you sprint to the woods.

Where will you go? How will you survive? What happened to your mother? All questions for a later time. The only thing that matters at the current moment is escaping to the woods, hopefully unnoticed.

You reach the trees and keep running, you didn't hear anything behind you but you didn't risk it.

You run for maybe ten minutes before your legs are on fire and can move no more. Sitting on a fallen tree you catch your breath. You rest another ten minutes and decide to keep moving but where? The country of Albia was dangerous and you have never travelled it before. To the west was the sea of vox. So that was out of the question.
