Chapter 3 by the_dude79 the_dude79

What does Ms. Jensen do next?

The professor comes clean

"Rocketgirl, there is something else." Ms. Jensen says. "One of my students has been asking to borrow a lot of equipment."

"What do you mean?"

"She's been borrowing lab equipment and chemicals and taking them home. I also believe she has pocketed some things, but I didn't know for sure so I haven't confronted her."

"Who is this student?" asks Rocketgirl

"Her name is Hannah Bates, she is one of my graduate students and a teaching assistant. That means that she could have filled out some of these order forms on her own."

"Do you know where i can find her Ms. Jensen."

"Yes," Replies the Professor. Ms. Jensen then walks around her desk and pages through her planner. Turning to the page with Hannah's address on it, the woman reads it to Rocketgirl. "She lives at 5555 Sunset with her mother."

"Thank you, Ms. Jensen." Rocketgirl replies. The heroine then turns and speeds out of the room in a blur.

Minutes later the heroine stops running in front of the house located at 5555 Sunset. Rocketgirl walks up to the door and rings the buzzer. After a minute, the door is opened by a a girl with straight blonde hair wearing a white button down shirt and jeans. She looks to be slightly older than Rocketgirl.

"Are you Hannah?" Rocketgirl asks.

"Yes why?" The girl asks.

"Can I talk to you about some university equipment?"

"Yes, please come in." Hannah holds the door open and gestures for Rocketgirl to come inside. "please sit down." Hannah says, pointing to the large blue couch.

"Thank you." Rocketgirl replies as she sits on the center cushon of the couch. Hannah sits down next to the silver clad heroine and leans toward her.

"Now what would you like to know."

"Hannah, I want you to know that I am not accusing you of anything, I am just trying to find out the truth."

Hannah nods, "Alright."

"You are a graduate student at the university and a teaching assistant for the science department correct?"

"Yes"

"Have you checked out some materials and brought them home?"

"Yes..... is there something wrong with that?" asks Hannah.

"No, not normally. There are some other circumstances involved." Says rocketgirl, watching Hannah's reactions to her questions. "Have you also ordered certain pieces of equipment and compounds?"

"Yes... that is part of my job as a teaching assistant. I order new equipment to replace broken or defective items and new compounds to replace what is used."

"Have you also been taking items home without checking them out?" Rocketgirl asks, and then waits for Hannah's response.

How does Hannah reply?
