Chapter 19 by brambank brambank

What should Leanne grab?

The phone

Leanne reached out and grabbed the phone before quickly turning to face her assailant and defend herself. But before she could use it the werewolf leapt forward, sending the pair of them flying over the back of the sofa to the floor. Leanne groaned as she hit the ground hard before swiftly regaining her awareness and peered anxiously to her left. The beast lay growling in anger, his arms and short claws tied together by the tangled mess of the phone cord.

This was her opportunity. She scrambled to her feet and ran for the door before he could recover, grabbing the black dress as she fled. She didn’t stop until she was outside in the corridor panting breathlessly as she looked about her for an escape route. Thankfully the corridor was quiet with just the soft moans of the trapped beast coming from the distance. Leanne looked down at the dress in her hand. At least she now had something to cover her body. Quickly she slipped it on over her head, immediately noticing how short it was as the bottom barely reached mid-thigh and exposed a lot of her slender legs. There was a white apron attached to the front with matching trim around the hem and across the neckline. It was clearly some kind of sexy maid costume left over from a fancy-dress party. She wasn’t sure if Gary realised this or not when he picked it out.

Her attention then turned to the handcuffs still attached to her left wrist. She tugged on it and the bracelet clicked open. It hadn’t even been locked. Leanne couldn’t believe it.

This was no time to rest though, not with that thing so close, and she set off, aiming to put as much distance between her and the creature as she could. She had no idea where she was heading but anywhere was better than staying there. Maybe she could find Gary. If only she knew where he went.

She could hear the dress swishing softly as she walked. The sounds matching her steps as she quickened her pace. Her heart was racing and, in her fear, to get away she managed to take a wrong turn, finding herself facing a dead end and being **** to turn back. She cursed herself for not paying attention and quickly retraced her steps. However, as she turned the corner she looked ahead and saw a menacing figure standing in her way.

Leanne froze. The clown was in the middle of the corridor maybe 30 or 40 metres away. He was staring directly at her, there was no way he hadn’t seen her. She wondered what to do. She tried to gauge whether it might be Dan but there was nothing that gave her a clue either way. She looked one way and then the other, searching desperately for an alternative. Her eyes darted back to the creepy clown. He still hadn’t moved and Leanne wondered what he wanted. ‘Maybe he’s not as bad as I’m imagining,’ she thought to herself. ‘It could just all be in my head.’ But as she hesitated the clown took a step forwards, moving towards her. His steps becoming faster and faster. Leanne began to panic and she looked around her once more for an escape.

Where should Leanne go?
