The line is long and slow, keeping them out in the hot sun.

SAX was the convention of conventions every year, with a well trained staff, well organized management, and plenty more experts behind the scenes making sure everything ran smoothly. Of course, such a big convention drew in big crowds, meaning a big, slow line stretching out of the front doors. Some things, it seemed, couldn't be avoided, no matter how well put together the convention.

Not that it was of much consolation to The BB Brigade. The wheels on Lynn's MEKA ground to a stop with a groan, followed by one from its operator.

"Oh, what? I thought we were getting here early!" Terri whined.

"We did," Lynn sighed, shifting to lean against the MEKA, "we're here bright and early. Just.... so are all of these people." She shrugged, "Just a part of the con experience, newbie. Get used to it." And so, with no small amount of complaining, the crew settled in waiting for the doors to open wide. Terri seemed to take it the hardest at first, pacing around as much space as she could find in the line, while Lynn and Kiona started scoping out some of the other costumes visible among the other waiting patrons. Meanwhile, Joy kept herself occupied by checking her gun and Lynn's robot, Marigold hovering over her shoulder to keep her company. Everyone was antsy to get into the con, but for the moment they were almost all content sitting in line.

Under the glare of the hot, hot sun, that moment lasted about 5 minutes.

Lynn was probably the least bothered by it, with her and Joy's craftsmanship on the suit meaning it breathed just fine, but she was starting to sweat before too long. Terri was in a similar position, with the added insulation of her flight jacket making it even hotter for her and even harder to sit still, as she eyed a cafe with cold drinks across the street. Marigold, true to character, was starting to get concerned for her "teammates" out in the heat, even as she started to get a bit red in the face herself. The two suffering most were probably Joy and Kiona. Dressing as the frost-flinging Mei, her costume came complete with a heavy, faux-fur-lined parka. She was tugging the zipper lower and lower, revealing a blue tank top and plenty of pale cleavage, and before too long she was eyeing her frost-gun as a potential way to cool herself down. Kiona, on the other hand, couldn't even do that much; all that armor, plastic and ceramic as it was, was sweltering, not to mention cumbersome to get on and off on ones own. And even if she did, she was wearing only a sports bra and some small, tight gym shorts underneath; not exactly the ideal outfit to be out in a huge crowd in.

The line inched forward, and though they didn't know it, one of the girls was going to snap soon and try to cool off, with less than ideal results...
