The deeper they go, the richer the harvest

Choosing to head deeper in the woods ended up being a wise decision, at least when talking about harvesting Vivingeer Roots.

In a single hour they managed to find another three roots, as many as the one they got in the whole morning, effectively doubling their harvest and the deeper they went, the more Vivingeer plants seemed to appear! Though the mood was also getting more dreary, the group feeling like something would pop up at any moment from behind a tree.

The joy from gathering more and more roots coupled with the nervousness of this being their first actual outing as adventurers, moreover in a place of real danger, it all mixed up in the young newbies who inadvertently kept going deeper and deeper till they were practically past the outermost area of the woods... they reached a place deemed unsuitable for F ranks.

Theoretically there was little difference among F and E ranks, both considered as newbies, but whereas E was awarded upon those who went through a few real fights, F was for non-fighters and fighters without real experience. Ryu's group was classified as the latter.

By stepping out an an area safe enough to be classified as F, the chances of fighting would geometrically increase. Sure, there was little difference aside from experience in between an F and E fighter, but it was exactly experience what may make the difference in a fight even if the opponent was a weak goblin.

Walking in an E class area and possibly fighting real E class dangers... by surviving such a trial, they'd prove they have what it take to be fighters. But if they lost... going back home and training some more would be the best result, whereas their most probable fate would be a not-so-quick **** for Ryu and a life as breeding sows for the girls, pumping out subhuman children for who knows which monster tribe.
