The compartment door sliding open

Mai turned towards the sound in time to see Lt. Commander Dorgugg stride forcefully into the compartment. He saw Burns and turned to glare at him as Burns came to attention, “Burns, you worthless maggot why the hell do I not have the report on my desk on those ore samples from Oreins III. The XO just chewed my ass and now I am here to chew yours. This was supposed to be done yesterday.”

Burns popped to full attention and replied, “Sir you did not give me the people to do it with, and the one that you gave me is a lazy rookie.”

Dorgugg looked over at Mai and said back to Burns, “You are one dumb human, you know for a fact that is a five or six person job, and you were supposed to pull people off other duties to get this done. This job is priority. You did not do it because you are too much of a pussy to work up a good sweat yourself, and people won’t follow a leader who is not willing to endure the hardships. Now get out of here and go put a crew together to come help the newbie.”

Burns hurried out of the compartment and Dorgugg walked over to where Mai had kept working keeping herself small when the two officers were yelling. She came to attention and saluted him as he said, “Well Ensign you have made a good start here to make up for your bad start this morning. Lt. Burns will return shortly and you will get some help to complete this job. Now carry on.”
