The alternative

The woman paused and stared at Mark angrily. It was so awkward that Mark grew red faced with embarassment. "Follow me into the living room and stand in the middle." The woman demanded, her tone seemed calmer but serious. Mark felt relief, he was free from the cops. The woman let go of him momentarily, so Mark could slide off the wall. She then grabbed his wrist and lead him into the living room.

It was a basic living room, couple sofas, a TV on a stand and lot's of decorative furnishings. Mark was positioned in the middle of the room, and now faced the sofa that the woman sat down on. Mark felt extremely awkward, he wanted to leave immediately. "****. Discrimination. Bullying. And permitless, yet you believe the police should not be called!!?" The woman yelled at him like an angry mother, each word pierced his ear drums with fear.

Mark couldn't look at her, it was too embarassing. "I know this looks bad, and I'm sorry, but you wouldn't have brought me in here if you weren't gonna call the cops, right...?" Mark asked her and looked up at her, hoping he was right. "Well you're observant aren't you? No I'm not gonna call the police." The woman responded.

Mark took a deep sigh of relief, thankful. "Oh thank god, now I'd like to leave if that's okay--"

"Ah ah ah! You're not going anywhere mister, if I'm not calling the police then I will have to deal with your crimes and lack of permit!" The woman interrupted Mark once again. The lawyer clenched his fists angrily, he contemplated a run for the door. "What does that mean?" He asked nervously...
