What's next?

The World of Dino...World.

So a little dramatic irony is to follow. You, the reader, are about to find out how the world of Dino World is actually set up. The main character, John, is making a lot of assumptions based on how the world used to be, and is expecting to see things in this world that are going to be either not there or very very rare. He didn't really read up on the current state of the game before he dived into it. The world he remembers was abundant with technology. Robotics, lasers, computers, and all that jazz. The world currently is significantly different.

Years of turmoil and war caused a massive decline in schools and advancements. As the fighting continued over a long period of time those with knowledge in advanced technology became fewer and fewer, and no one was replacing them. The world is currently in a dark age. People are just trying to survive now. Any city that becomes large enough to encourage technological advancement gets targeted by smaller groups who just want their resources for themselves. As such most technology has been lost, and now exists in stories. The technological cities that dotted the landscape are now ruins.

There are pockets of technology that persist however. Such as storage space. Mainly due to magic, those who can create storage items (back packs, chests, ect.) can attune the storage space within a pocket between dimensions. Allowing users to store and recall items in that dimensional pocket. Guns, while very rare, are also still around. Additionally there are always untouched technological treasures that are occasionally found by those who seek them or stumble upon them.

The world as it currently sits is more like medieval times. Swords, bows and arrows, rudimentary armor, are now the main weaponry of the current age. The goal of the game is to create a city to usher in a new era of advancement. Eventually John will figure this out, but currently he thinks he is just in a rather primitive area of the world. That's dramatic irony for you though. Now you know what he doesn't know, and you get to see things through the eyes of someone with more knowledge than the protagonist.
