The Witch Hammer saga
Long ago our world was once humble and beautiful, a place of humble hovels, and rolling hills, but ever since the day of Sinn and the arrival of the StarHammer accompanied by a climatic eclipse. Our world has made a turn towards darkness, demons have assaulted our lands during the generations since and despite our high walls and fortifications built against them, they always seem to have the upper hand. At least until the StarHammer itself intervened.
The star hammer is a god of sorts which appeared within a sun a few billion years ago and caused it's destruction, shaped oddly into the form of a hammer and found by aliens many centuries later. The hammer has one particular power ascribes its disciples. The title of witch and the power of a magic weapon which aides them in battle. They can be from all over the galaxy, using their powers over magic to travel the universe if they choose to, making them heroes or villains of the universe in their own right. But they have the presence of powerful aliens, other universal gods, and of course corruption demons hunting them to extinction to worry about more than anything. Thus is the setting for the witch hammer saga.
Long long ago during a time history books call the dark ages, many witches and practitioners of the arts were prayed for salvation at the hands of ruthless religious aggressors. Unlike our history however their prayers were perhaps answered. The biblical event blocked the sun for several days, but it was very terrifying to the medieval inhabitants of the world as a massive alien ship known as the StarHammer warped into our solar system. Why it did is still unclear, as it seemed interested in meddling in the lives of us earthlings all too readily.
The atlasean sized interstellar warship approached our measly planet with the ease as millions of Trion thrusters kicked online, settling it into position as the second most visible object inhabiting our might sky. Which for many to call it judgment day, and the biggest genocide of all mankind occurred naming it a Crusade of Piety, the beings inhabiting the ship however seemed to have different interests and released a type of invasive species into our biosphere. The creature resembles a intricate curling of tentacles around a highly intricate, but also highly docile brain. The beings are known however to infest the bodies of other animals and grant them special abilities, two classes of harnessed beings are born from the process, Adepts who can use something akin to magic, and Odepts who although not too magical themselves, they do store mana which can be absorbed by a Adept trained in mana extraction, or used during powerful magical transformations.
The inquisitor's of the time shied away from these beings and called them devil spawn, however individuals harnessed to the symbiote's gained a fighting edge against them that the merely human could not compete with, as such the Alien presence that seemed to be manipulating it's influence to very esoteric interactions. Had the determination to attempt to convert the mental state of the aggressive humanity. By releasing Psychospawn which twists humanity into a overly powered monster that apparently in the wrong hands can cause a lot of trouble.
As such the witch hammer were formed to combat the chaos of the power humanity now possessed. They developed into teams who belong to covens, which in turn protect a region of the world and clans which hold domain over sections of the universe. All witch hammer disciples are tasked with taking care and to bring order to the people who live among them.
Modernly because of the atomic age, witches have had to live a little bit more secretly than before. Many of their followers live normal lives, only to step into a battle arena and assume the role of a certain Coven's idol and fight evil for the protection of the planet. Before returning to the plain Jane that they were and living out their private identities in obscurity protected by the witche's normality grand charm in effect, keeping them safe from the magic restrictions bureau set up by the human government, and psychotic demons of the remaining inquisition who wish to subdue them.
Merilyn Helios of Troy and welder of the Witch hammer Aesop, otherwise known in her public life as Lynn Helios is one of the characters available, adopting a college student book worm persona outside her idolism and hoping her bulky glasses and sweaters may serve to allow her some anonomity to endure a regular college experience free of paparazzi or creepy fans as a princess of the Helios dynasty affords her. Unfortunately she lives with her equally as creepy roommate Dylan who although doesn't know her secret identity, still pervs over her at any moment she let's her guard down resulting in quite a few unintended sneak peaks. But will it be the despicable demons or the ravenous roommate who will conquer her in the end?
Aphra Desiac of Eden, otherwise known as Adra Simone is another character, proud of her idolship, and the near nudity her botanical wrappings provide. She is an elitist whose two twin Odepts, Grimor and Ryjha feed her ambitions for magic obediently from their massive lactating teets, and then turn into two furious mana fueled nature guardians during combat, she herself swings the mighty staff Oberon allowing her to manifest her mana through the living. She often takes a more imperious tone among lesser witches and even devalues ordinary humans. However she is likely to become the Paragon of Eden one day so even the matriarch must bend to her will begrudgingly.
Ellinora Grimorie of Nottingham and bearer of the Witches Bow Locksley, which allows her to cast mystical blasts of mana at the cost of his constant perving and head games the weapon deviously puts her through. She is accompanied by the beautifully chocolate skinned goddess of the south, Nara Utsubi. Who pledges her life to the budding mana-shot as her loyal Odept, pleasing her mistress fervently even if she objects to the attention.
Phyries Cyren of Kamalot is perhaps one of the few male witches or warlocks, whose power may even ultimately far surpass his peers. He has one faithful Odept though, Kieko Namikai is loyal but inexperienced as a companion Odept, as her former trainer had died tragically after her second year of apprenticeship to him. However he is her second master and the eager Asian teen has wasted not a moment in proving herself to be among one of the best and perhaps thirstiest companions he has ever had. Publicly he is known as Ethan Graves and attends the Dominis Arcanum school of witchcraft and wizardry. Where despite his lowly status, he is likely to subdue his academic adversaries given the time. The boy harbors a secret far darker than any demon the witches have yet to encounter.
