The Setting

This story takes place in the Kingdom of Barvel and focuses mainly on the capitol and surrounding area. The kingdom is fairly peaceful and the capitol city doubles a port town. King Harold Barvel IV commands the kingdom, but has never had to deal with a crisis. The peaceful kingdom is falling into chaos and its leader is useless.

Magic is common in this world, but takes time and training to master. Sages are naturally the strongest mages since they have much longer life spans to learn and grow their power. Most magic is elemental manipulation, but other forms of magic do exist. Healing magic is always in high demand with adventurers, but few people have truly studied it. There is no revival spell and **** is finite.

Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and even Orcs are common in Barvel. The country is a melting pot of races and cultures, with a flourishing trade. Goblins also can be friendly, but some tribes are still very primitive and hostile.
