Chapter 3
by Jeriah
Who's your client, the owner(s) of this mansion?
The Nosferas familly
"So they do have electricity at least, after all." You think to yourself as you cautiously enter through the heavy doors and watch them slowly swing closed behind you again without anyone there to move them.
Looking around you find yourself in a great hall, dominated by a wide old stair at the far end that splits halfways up to the balconies above. A heavy chandelier illuminates the room from far above your head, making the many closed doors, leading left and right out of the hall, seem even more mysterious as they're partially shadowed by the multitude of ornamented pillars littering the room.
While you're still busy taking in the entire scenery, you suddenly become aware of someone watching you. Turning back towards the stairs, your eyes grow wider in mild surprise as you find this someone allready making his way across the floor towards you.
"Good evening, my lady, and welcome!" He greets you in a polite and friendly manner, his eyes like many other's discreetly roaming your curvaceous figure before once again meeting your eyes with his own. Unlike most other men however, his handsome face and the open admiration in his sharp black eyes are enough to make your cheeks blush ever so slightly as he approaches. "My name is Vincent, head of the Nosferas familly, and you must be the baby-sitter we asked for, miss...?"
"Cassandra... Cassandra Evans..." You tell him, managing a friendly smile but blushing even more as he takes your hand in his own. For a moment you think he's about to kiss it, he certainly looks like the sort to do so, but instead he seem content just shaking it gently and holding on just slightly longer than neccessary before letting you go. His touch is a bit cold, but not unpleasant, just like the looks of the rest of his appearance.
"A lovely name, Cassandra!" He smiles, again giving you one of those heated glances before turning his head back towards the stairs. "And this is my wife, Ophelia, and our daughter Evelyn!"
"Umm... Nice to meet you!" You mumble uncertainly, bowing down a little while taking in the trio as the two newcomers walk down the stairs and join you in the middle of the great hall. Just like the man of the house, his wife and daughter are pale of skin and share the same gleaming black hair colour. While Ophelia is tall and exotically beautiful with her slanted dark eyes, her daughter is just as slender and gracious but head and shoulders shorter than her parents and with vivid, almost unnaturally large eyes in her doll-like pretty little face.
"She's gonna be my babysitter tonight?" Evelyn querries in a pitched, gleefully childish voice that seem to well fit her character, looking up at her father before returning those big black eyes to look you up and down. "She's pretty!"
"Yes sweetheart, she is..." Vincent smiles back at his daughter while giving you another quick look over, his eyes and compliments once again making you blush. Much to your surprise, Ophelia doesn't seem even the slightest uncomfortable with the admiring glances her husband's giving you, instead checking you out with only slightly cooler interest while he introduces you to their daughter.
"Cassandra?! What a beautiful name!" The girl giggles, evidently one of those hyperactive sorts as she dances around you and then suddenly dashes away towards the stairs.
"Umm... Isn't she actually a bit old to need a babysitter?" You hesitantly ask the girl's parents as you watch her laughingly dissappear up the stairs. Despite her looks and behaviour, you're quite certain that the slender curves beneath her loose black clothes are not those of a child. In fact, you'd rather guess that she's just below or even at the same age as yourself.
"She's always been a bit special..." The mother speaks up for the first time as she lovingly looks up to the balconies above, her voice deep and melodic just like you'd think it to be. "We just don't want to leave her all alone out here."
"Yes..." Vincent agrees, nodding his head while they both turn their attention back to you. "She doesn't have many friends, the poor thing, so you'll be more of company actually, rather than just sitting her for the night."
"Oh...?" You start a bit worriedly, knowing that such kids may need more specially educated attendants, but then think that this one doesn't really seem any worse than any of the usual, hyperactive sort of kids you have to care for. "Well... I'm sure we'll get on well together!"
"Yes, indeed!" Ophelia smiles at you. "She seem quite fond of you allready!"
"Maybe we should leave then?" Her husband asks, taking her arm and giving you another of those admiring glances before heading past you towards the door. Turning to see them leave, you're quite surprised to find Evelyn allready right behind you and giving her parents a quick hug goodbye.
Moments later you find yourself alone in the huge old mansion, with this lively young girl as only company. Looking down at her you manage a sweet though somewhat uncertain smile, asking her what she'd like to do for the evening...
Early evening with Evelyn?
