Chapter 5
by whiteballs
Which place should I visit tonight?
The Gaslight Music Lounge
{if GM==1}I should search for The Gaslight Music Lounge.
The article I read was dated twelve years ago. Does it still exist today? Maybe a quick map search would help. It says Shaw Avenue. I could check it out now before Julia returns.
I hurriedly dress into casuals. It's the weekend, so Julia can't be at work. And music lounges typically have more clients during the weekend, so I won't really be conspicuous. As I exit the door, I notice that the sky is somewhat dark and cloudy.
I follow the path we usually take when we jog until I see an intersection. The street lamps have just turned on. I jog towards the intersection then slowly walk along what should be Shaw Avenue.
This looks like an old part of town. On one side of the street are old boarded-up large buildings, while on the other side are smaller buildings, lighted up with large signages.
I stop and try to read all the signs-- no Gaslight Music Lounge. Maybe, I should search for the initials GML or TGML. Is 'The' part of its official name?
The closest building is called April's Fitness Center. Next to it are two residential buildings, then there is a commercial building, a park, another commercial building, and a smaller building at the far end that looks like a bar.
Maybe I should visit each commercial building and check out the names.
It takes me a few minutes to reach the building. I count four shops on each of the three floors: beauty shops, dress shops, toy shops, a barbershop, and a hobby shop.
I should go back during the day. But on the other hand, music lounges are only open at night. So, if I don't see it now, then it never existed.
I continue towards the next commercial building. No success here either. I finally decide to turn back. Then I glance at the next building. The sign simply says, "Scarlett's".
I try to recall. Isn't that the actress' name? But it could also be anybody's name. Forget about it! I should get back before Julia finds me gone.
On second thought, I should just ask about the bar's owner. They could maybe provide me more information about the Gaslight Music Lounge.
{if GM==3}
article mentions a boat chase that terminated at the lighthouse. Two undercover agents, a male and a female, and a female civilian were killed. Half a dozen officers were wounded. No identities were mentioned, but only that the suspects were part of a prostitution ring. The Gaslight Music Lounge was mentioned as a possible front. The article is dated twelve years ago.
I close the front door quietly and excitedly walk towards the police station. I arrive at the well-lighted building and smile at the cop on duty. Her name tag says 'Hernandez'. I notice that the top two buttons of her uniform are unbuttoned-- showing some cleavage. I almost forget my reason for coming.
At the intersection, Julia takes a different route this time, through an old part of town where many of the buildings were boarded up.
I follow her-- my eyes feasting on the view of her derriere. "Is there a gym in this part of town?" I ask innocently.
Just then, a large building comes into view. A slightly burnt signage reads: Gaslight Music Lounge. I try to recall what I read on the net as I stop in front of the old building. The blackened concrete walls indicated that a fire had punctuated whatever existence it had. I stop in front of the building and gaze curiously at what remained of the five-storey structure.

My Sister's Thong
was it just a fetish or something deeper?
From my perspective, it was just a typical thong, but I didn't realize how deeply it would affect me, and how critical it was in discovering the truth.
