That Old Black Magic

“I spent a full year researching a demon’s name. One who had never been properly banished. I found one, a demon of lust, pain, and domination. She is a mid-level demon and a sorceress. She will know how to make this wonderful spell permanent.”

“How do summon her?”

“It’s easy! We just need to make sure we can bind her, otherwise she’ll tear out our souls and drag us to hell.”

“Piece of cake! When do we summon her?”

“No better time then the present. I’ll need your help to set up.”

Crystal directs the girls and begins drawing complex patterns on the ground in chalk. After nearly an hour of setup, Crystal has a satisfied grin.

“So, Crystal, when do we start? What do we do?”

“The work has already been done. We just need to call her.”

Crystal lights the candles. “Macabria, we summon you.”

With sharp eyes, Theresa notices the candles momentarily dim. Still the chalk pattern is empty.

“Where is she?”

“Don’t be deceived, she’s here. Show yourself, Macabria!”

Inside the pattern smoke begins to form. Then it begins to dissipate. Inside the pentagram is what can only be described as a demon. She is average height, with long shapely legs that end in cloven hooves. Her skin is crimson and her head is shaved. A pair of ebony horns spiral from her forehead. Her eyes are red slits and glow an unholy light. Piercings and runic tattoos cover her body.

“Why have you summoned me, witch?”

She examines Crystal more closely and smiles, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth.

“My granddaughter cast a spell and we wish to make it permanent.”

“I see. It is a most interesting spell. For a price, I believe I will help you.”

“Name your price demon!”

“You will find a virgin, an innocent, within thirteen days and sacrifice her to me.”

Theresa grins. “Sounds more than fair to me. How do we do this?”

“The spell begins with you. You merely need join me in the circle and do what comes naturally.”

“Wait, Theresa, we should talk this through. Entering the circle is dangerous.”
