"Well, to be honest, I don't think the couch is going to be totally comfortable, but it's the best place for me while I'm here," I answered.

Danielle replied, "Nonsense, if necessary one of us can..."

I shook my head. "I don't think I should be sharing a bed with your mom and even though your brother-in-law's not here, your sister is a married woman."

Danielle nodded, putting a hand to her chin. "Well, if you're sure..."

"I'll be fine, though. Thanks for asking, Danielle," I replied, smiling.

Jeremy came back into the house, carrying the rest of the luggage. "Well, Dany, I'm going to take a shower," he told her. He bent his head closer to her and whispered (although I could still hear it), "Want to join me?"
