Tea Time

Emma made a quick examination of her older Cousin's room. There were an assortment of trophies from different sports that Jake had played in high school, several posters on the wall of sports teams and fancy sports cars. There was a nice queen sized bed with a wooden frame and matching wooden night stand and dresser.

Checking the dresser, more for a place to unpack some of her clothes rather than snooping, Emma found most of them still full of clothes.

She figured she wasn't moving in so living out of a suitcase wouldn't be too big of a deal.

A quiet knock at the door turned her attention. Maude peeked her head in and quietly said, "Here's your tea, Love. I don't know how you take it so there's a couple of sugar cubes on the saucer."

Aunt Maude gently handed the tea to Emma then made her exit. As an afterthought she said over her shoulder, "Dinner will be in about two hours. Why don't you take a nap 'til then. You really do look exhausted, Hun."

Emma sat on the edge of the bed and sipped her tea. It was comforting, which was good, because her thoughts kept turning to the image of her dead parents. Identifying their bodies and then seeing them in caskets at the funeral was just too much.

Feeling as exhausted as her Aunt seemed to think she looked, Emma decided to take a nap after all.

Setting the tea cup and saucer on the night stand, Emma pulled back the covers on Jake's bed and prepared to nap.
