Chapter 9
by dollmind
What do you do?
Talk to her, carefully
The sad tone in her voice makes you stop. She certainly sounds like the Emily you've grown to know and love, and you can't bring yourself to break her heart. You have to at least find out if it's really her, or if she's been taken over by the monster her costume has turned her into.
You turn around, carefully holding the crucifix in front of your face. The vampiress keeps her eyes averted, blinking and looking away. "Could you put that down? It's hurting my eyes!"
{if Suggestibility > 0}"You tried to hypnotize me," {else}"You grabbed my arm, it hurt,"{endif} you say. "Besides, your a vampire. I mean, actually a vampire!"
"Fair point," she says. "I don't mean any harm, and I didn't mean to become a vampire either! Something is happening, and I'm looking for Brenden, my boyfriend."
You lower the rosary and smile a little, sheepishly. "Well, you found him, except it's her now...and I guess that makes me your girlfriend," you say. "Pronouns are going to get pretty weird."
"Wow, I guess I wasn't the only one to change," Emily says. She looks you over and bites her lip unconsciously. Even as a vampire, she has a very sexy lip bite.
"I'm still me, though," I say, "all the same memories, and desires."
"Me too," she says. "Though, I also have a slight taste for blood..."
You raise the rosary.
"It's totally under control, though!" she insists.
You lower the rosary. "Good," you say, and step closer to her. "This throws a little wrench into our evening plans, though."
Emily nods. "What do you think we should do?"
How do you answer?
