Talk to Melissa

"I guess I'd like to check out." You start your conversation with the cute receptionist, just like so many times before. It's proven the most neutral way to get yourself introduced to each other, and while you're at it you also make sure to look at her name tag. Even if you don't need to read, it's easier to explain to her later how you know her by name. "I believe the breakfast was included, right...?"

"Yes, it is." The girl gives you a nod and a smile, that shows off her dimples, and proceeds to mark your name in the log on her desk. Apparently computers aren't a thing out here yet, and you cannot fail to be amazed how everyone seems to be lacking a phone. In your own case you somehow forgot your cell phone back in your office, but never believed you'd get stuck in the wild without any contact with the outside world.

"Was there something else, Mr.Doe?" Melissa wonders, when you stand there lost in thoughts while you watch the pencil move in her slender hand. "The diner is right on your left."
