What's next?
Take stock of the surroundings
You spend the following days exploring your surroundings. While you do not expect to find much out in the wilds, it cannot hurt to be cautious.
While exploring the forested hills around your tower, you discover a goblin village in a valley to the south. While the tribe likely numbers no more than a few hundred, it would be unwise to make an enemy of them.
You also find evidence of ranging bands of elves, exiles from their kingdoms. There could be spellcasters or skilled warriors among them, so it would likely be best to avoid unnecessary contact.
Aside from these factions, the immediate region surrounding your tower is largely uninhabited. Of course there will always be the occasional wandering beast or ranger from distant lands, but these are unlikely to be permanent residents of the area.
