Swing open the doors

With a healthy dose of confidence, Jax placed his two hands on the double doors, and pushed them open. The stench of **** and warm pies (Not that kind) filled his nostrils. Many of the bar patrons swivelled their heads to see who had swung open the doors like that. Jax's eyes immediately scanned the room, not much had changed, other than a missing table and the odd barrel or two moved around. Other than that it was the same old inn. Most of the patrons had returned to drinking their pissy yellow ale, some were still staring at Jax.

"WELL, if it 'aint old Jax" a voice boomed from the counter. a voice Jax could recognise from anywhere.

Jax moved closer to the bar, standing before a mighty centaur, who looked to have about 100% muscle, and 0% body fat. "Drey! It's been a sweet minute since i've seen you."

The horseman let out a hearty laugh, the kind that warms the soul. "Could say the same to you mate. Heard about the mishap you had.. real shame to loose a patron like you."

Jax returned a smile to Drey. "Yeah, can you believe i've been sober for two years?"

Another one of Drey's laughs boomed through the inn. Suddenly the clipping sound of heels could be heard from the kitchen, followed by a small squeal. Soon, from the doorway emerged a shiny eyed blonde girl, stood at about 5'2. Her head was topped with some small ears, akin to those of a cat. Her small dress was frilly and pink, similar to a maid outfit "Nyahaa!" She wailed again "Jax!"

"Lola. How could i forget." Jax stated, as the woman ran at him at full speed, diving into his chest, coiling her arms around him like a serpent.

"You've been for so looong... i've been ever so lonely." Lola begins to slide her hands up and down his back, Jax couldn't even tell is she was being flirtatious or not, till her tail sneakily brushed up against his pants, several times.

Drey was quick to quell the cat-girl. "Let the man breathe, he needs air y'know"

Lola huffed at him, reluctantly letting go of Jax. "I missed you a lot." She mumbled, twiddling her fingers while her tailed coiled around her leg. Jax rested a hand on her shoulder. "I missed ya too." Lola's eyes lit up like she was told she was now a millionaire.

He turns to Drey again. "I'll be needing a room for the week."

Drey raised an eyebrow. "You got the funds to cover that lad?"

"I'd never show up empty handed would i?" Jax asked rhetorically, flipping the centaur a gold coin from his pouch.

He nodded and pocketed the money. "Third room on the right, up the stairs, your favourite. And don't forget breakfast is paid for."

Jax nodded back to Drey, heading up the creaky wooden stairs, that were threatening to buckle under his own meagre weight. Despite that, he headed into the room he had claimed for the week.
