Chapter 7 by nimt nimt

What happened in the briefing room?

Swearing into the military

You were early enough, there's only 8 people in the briefing room, 6 guys and 2 girls. I took a seat near the back.

A guy walked into the briefing room and slides began to show.

"I am Lieutenant Marcus, when I called out your name, reply Yes Sir."

When you heard him calling out your name, you replied with the loudest Yes Sir. Your name was the last name to be called. Then Lieutenant Marcus walked out of the briefing room holding a sheet of paper. A captain came in and had all of you raise your right hand and repeat after him the oath of allegiance.

"I am Captain Paul, raise your right hand. repeat after me. I, your name. At the end of the oath, shout Sir."

"I Andy Lavigne." Everyone shouted, and everyone's name were inaudible.

"do solemnly swear that."

"do solemnly swear that." You repeated after the captain again.

"I will support and defend."

"I will support and defend."

And it went on until the oath is completed.

"Uniform Code of Military Justice."

"Uniform Code of Military Justice, SIR."

"Congrats, welcome to the army. Lieutenant Marcus will be back here shortly to brief you and hands you your letter of appointment."

Lieutenant Marcus walked in again and handed out letters to everyone.

"Listen up carefully, you are on your way to Basic Military Training. The letter I handed out is your enlistment papers. Check that your name is on the envelope. The first page of the enlistment paper contains several things, your particulars, your salary grade, your serial number. There's nothing worse than a recruit that doesn't know his or her serial number. You can forget your name for the next thirteen weeks, it won't be required.

On the second page contains information on where to report. Most of you are required to report to a particular train station, so don't board the wrong train. Don't be late, if you are late, you will be thrown into detention barracks for AWOL. For those who didn't know what is AWOL, it means absence without leave and that, is a serious offense.

Bring minimal stuff, because you will have everything in camp. Do note that on your first day, report in the uniform that you were given. Not casual clothing.

And lastly guys, take the nights off, say good bye to your friends and family, because you won't be seeing them for the next eight weeks. "

Where do you go next?
