Bethany felt a lump rise in her throat and a sickness in her stomach, even if she had a weapon it would be very hard for her to have any chance against a demon dog without her wand.

She was not much of a runner, and even if she was, few could outrun a beast such as this. If her wand worked, she would have a chance, a slim one but a chance. “What do you want of me?” She asked through gritted teeth.

The growl that came from the dog was more of a purr then a growl. “Worship me, give yourself up to me.” It began, “Kneel and cast your wand aside.”

Beth gritted her teeth again, without her wand even rituals would be more difficult, she had heard they were intelligent and yet had still blindly hopped that the creature wouldn’t make her discard her most important tool.

She nodded and knelt on the ground, the stone tiles were smooth under her knees, it seemed an insult when compared to what she was dealing with. In her mind she felt the ground should be made of glass, sharp edges cutting into her like this beast’s demands were. That it should be scalding hot, blistering like the insult she was **** to cow to. But it was none of those things, it was smooth, featureless, as if the school itself didn’t care about her plight. Somehow she felt betrayed, insulted by the school itself.

She drew her wand out and cast it to the side. Her whole body screamed that it was the wrong idea but there wasn’t much use in her wand if the Nexus was broken. “Now your bag.” It said stepping closer.

She pulled her bag from her shoulder and threw it across the room, “Now what?” She demanded.

Its laugh had no mirth, “You get another choice.” It stepped closer still, now she could feel it’s breath on her skin. It leant in to whisper, “Strip and I will be nice,” it said before licking her face, “or make me rend those clothes from you and I will be,” it paused as if thinking, “rough.”
