Sure, what are friends for?

I look at the sweet girl. "Sure Mel. I'd be happy to help you cover for your family." I say with a smile. I watch as her face brightens considerably, in fact almost lighting up the bar.

"Really?! Awesome! Thank you SO much, John. One thing...I'm a terrible liar. So, maybe we should have one date, tonight so that if they ask I can honestly answer."

"The reunion is this weekend, right? Well, that leaves us just tonight. So, let's get a cracking. First some drinks. Which we've had. Then we can go to Del Monico's for some excellent steaks..."

"Ooo, Vegetarian. They have fish?" Mel says with a little pout.

"It's an Italian restaurant. Of course they have fish. So I'll have a steak and you can have your fish. I didn't know you are a Vegetarian."

"You never asked, did you? Mom doesn't like that either. She says everybody needs meat in them." Of course she says that as I'm taking a drink, and damn near kill myself. "Oh, get your mind out of the gutter."

"Sorry I'm a guy."

"I know, I'm joking. Let's go." Mel says chugging the last of her beer.
