Stunned but happy

Stunned, you stared at Doe.

You think back to the weekend before the wedding when Doe visited you. You were both talking about the wedding and both of you got drunk. You remember yourself saying something to her about love but couldn't remember what you said until now. After your confession to Doe , she replied back by saying the same thing. Overcomed with emotions, you kissed her and she kissed you back. One thing led to another and Courtney was the result of it.

Doe stared at you the entire time waiting for your response, subconsciously playing with the edge of her shirt. With each second passing of you not saying a word, she started getting nervous. She took the silence as something bad was going to happen. Maybe involving you blowing up on her for not telling you.

She quickly said, "I'm so sorry I didn't tell you, I'll leave you by yourself."

She started to turned around and walk away when you stopped her. You ran up to her and grabbed her wrist before she could run away. She looked at you with tears falling down her cheeks. She struggled to look at you in the eyes until you said, "No, I'm not mad. I'm actually happy to be in fact. I'm happy to know that we created a life together."

Doe's eyes shot up to look at you in the eye and her frown turned into a huge smile. All she said was "Thanks.......for understanding John..Let's go celebrate this" as she held out her hand. You gladly took her hand and started returning to the rest of the gang.
