Struggle! This can't be how it ends.

Alexia somehow found the willpower to struggle against the King's tentacles. They had loosened since the sex had started. She found that she could wiggle her right arm free. By luck it was the hand holding the crystal, and it dangled freely from her fingers.

She wasn't sure what she could do. Alexia had a feeling that the tentacles were going to do something irreparable to her. There was nothing she could use, except for the crystal. Would throwing it at the King do anything?

"What are you trying to do, young one?"

God damnit! Do something!

As if answering her call, the crystal exploded into blinding light as bright as the sun. She closed her eyes immediately. She heard the King scream, and the tentacles lost their grip. Alexia fell painfully on the floor, landing on her rear.

"What... what is that? This power... I don't believe it! Why would you have a Gemo f Torghul? Give me that!"

Tentacles lashed out from the King, aimed at Alexia's crystal, but the light burned brighter, causing the tentacles to turn into ashes. Alexia was unharmed.

"Argh! A mere mortal... I will be watching you..."

All of a sudden, the King was gone. There was no one else in the hall. The crystal slowly dimmed until it was at the original level of brightness. Alexia stared at it. The crystal stared back with pure innocent light.
