Stephanie

Stephanie hated Amber. They had exchanged barbs verbally many times, in person, and on the internet. Amber tended to come out on top in these verbal exchanges. Stephanie knew Amber was smarter, but wouldn't admit it to anyone else. One of the things she found most upsetting was that Amber, chubby as she was, always eventually ended up making a fat joke at her expense.

Stephanie was, of course, a big girl. At five-nine, she towered over Amber, and her hefty body probably weighed as much as Amber's, maybe more. But Amber was always quick with the insults. Stephanie was just as keen to insult her right back, but Amber's responses were clever, and made people laugh at Stephanie's expense. Stephanie wanted nothing more than to beat Amber senseless. She hadn't though, because Amber was rarely without a few friends. Stephanie knew she wouldn't be able to hurt Amber before security stopped her, but maybe, just maybe, if she only aimed to hurt her pride, enough people would enjoy the comeuppance that no one would step in. Perhaps Stephanie overestimated her own popularity and likeability; she was well known, but, like Amber, her prominence hadn't won the crowd over.

Stephanie blew her Betty-Page-like bangs aside with a sharp breath. She really didn't feel that great tonight. It seemed like everyone was having fun but her. Amber had a smile on her face that suggested more than a little buzz from the drinks. She looked her over, trying to decide the best way to humiliate her rival and improve her own afterparty experience.

Looking around, she noted that the mudwrestling pit from the biker event yesterday was still in place in a corner not far from the bar. The club had roped it off, half-heartedly, with a length of string with a sign hanging on it that said "no entry." It probably wouldn't be hard to get the tipsy Amber into it. But perhaps, there were better options open.
