Step out of the closet

Tired of waiting, Crispen quietly opens the door and steps out to take a look. He hears voices in the next room and carefully peers around the corner.

He sees the young wife who should have been naked, with her legs wrapped around him at that moment. Instead, she is fully dressed and speaking with a young man whom Crispen took to be her husband.

“But I don’t understand why you have to go,” said the woman. “There are other people who have worked there longer than you. Why can’t one of them go?”

“The boss asked for me,” said the man. “I know it will be hard for us to be apart for two weeks, but after all, it is a high honor. How many furniture makers can boast that they worked for the king?”

Crispen’s ears perked up. The king?

The young woman sighed and said, “Are you sure it won’t be longer than two weeks? We’re still technically on our honeymoon!”

“I know, my beloved,” said the man, stepping forward and embracing his wife. “It will be hard for me, as well, but I’m doing this for both of us. When I get back, imagine the extra money we will have from this assignment, plus I’ll be able to charge more for my work, since I will have had experience as a royal craftsman!”

He kisses his wife and then pulls away. “I’m sorry I have to rush off like this. We must leave immediately. In fact, we cannot even wait long enough to find a weaver to go with us; we will have to employ one along the way. I love you, my sweet, and I will send word to you once we arrive at the palace.”

Crispen leans back against the wall and ponders this. The thought of having two weeks with a newlywed young woman makes his balls throb with anticipation. At the same time, he is very intrigued to hear about this job at the home of Daddy Dearest.
