Chapter 5 by CxSeth CxSeth

What's next?

Starlily heads her foes off at the park

Both Hellbeasts were on the move, but Starlily could fly faster than they could run. Interestingly, they seemed to be heading to the same place: a small park near City Hall. Starlily didn’t like to let monsters get that deep into the city, but at the speed they were moving, they couldn’t be causing more than incidental damage. She reached the park ahead of either beast, and slowed to a hover.

A quick survey of the scene brought a frown to the attractive heroine’s face. Multiple civilians, and plenty of shrubs and trees to give the Hellbeasts a chance for a surprise attack. Starlily summoned up a burst of demonic energy and released it in an explosive fireworks display above the park, trying to ignore the small orgasm that accompanied it.

Now that she had everyone’s attention, Starlily landed and pointed at the park’s Northern exit- the one furthest from the approaching Hellbeasts.

“Everyone needs to evacuate now!” She shouted, shivering under everyone’s gaze, “Two very dangerous monsters are on the way here, and I don’t want anyone to get hurt!”

The shocked citizens stared for a moment, then exploded into a flurry of noise, motion, and panic. On the whole, the city had become much better at responding to sudden Hellbeast attacks, but every crowd had one or two people who were too slow, frightened, shocked, or stubborn to properly evacuate. Or, in the case of one straggler, just plain unlucky.

In the rush of sudden traffic, one young man had the misfortune to be bowled over by a large Saint Bernard, sending him stumbling directly into the park’s fountain. Starlily floated over to help him out, but the first Hellbeast chose that exact moment to arrive, and the heroine had to choose between getting the young man out of harm’s way, or engaging the beast and hoping to quickly finish it off.

Obviously, Starlily couldn’t risk any further civilian injury, so she quickly scooped up the young man in one hand and rose into the sky, out of reach of the angry monster. The recuee gave a surprised gasp and desperately clung to Starlily, wrapping his arms around her in a way that was distractingly pleasant. Every fiber of Statlily’s flesh was begging her to melt into his touch, to guide his hands to the places where they could properly pleasure her, and to forget the real and present danger below.

But Starlily was a hero, and she couldn’t afford to surrender to her lusts. Not just yet, anyway. She summoned a few weak blasts of energy and hurled them down at the Hellbeast, but between her distraction and exhaustion, she wasn’t capable of doing any real damage from up in the air.

The energy did have an effect on her passenger, though. His skin went from clammy and wet to warm and inviting, and an instantly-recognizable hardness began to swell against Starlily’s hip. She couldn’t blame him, of course. Her powers tended to have that effect on people, and the close physical contact would only make things more difficult for him. And for her, she admitted. She wasn’t going to last. She had to do something fast, she had to-

“Set me down!” The man yelled, pulling Starlily out of her spiraling thoughts, “I’ve seen you fight before, on the TV. You’re holding back because of me. Just drop me and kick this thing’s ass. I’ll, uh, I’ll probably be fine.”

Starlily shook her head, and pulled him tighter against herself as she did a quick flyby and loosed another blast. “Brave, and sweet, but not a risk I’m will to take.” She still hadn’t seen the second Hellbeast, and besides, the civilian was only half of the problem. Her energy reserves were really flagging at this point, and her world was quickly shrinking to become one of pure sensation and impulse.

What Starlily needed wasn’t to lose the civilian: what she needed was backup.

Does backup arrive?
