Stand and fight.
The man's almost upon her when she pivots suddenly, ohmygod! she thinks in a panic as she sees the man barreling towards her.
The man's expression changes to one of surprise when she suddenly turns towards him. When he thought he had seconds before he caught her, she's suddenly right there. The man starts to skid, trying to end his headlong rush.
Kayo, running on pure adrenaline, drives her knee up, striking the man in the thigh with all her strength. She doesn't strike nearly as hard as she had hoped, but its still enough to send the man sprawling across the ground.
Not waiting for the man to recover, Kayo lets out a laugh that is two parts relief and starts to run again.
