Simon Shaw leaned back in his reclining chair with his hands behind his head. On the outside, he appeared calm and collected, but inside was a flurry of emotions. There was no news on whether or not Shaw's sabotage of Dr. Hildebrand and Dr. Walker had had any success, and he worried that he might have been caught red handed. Simon had made the ultimate gamble here; if he were to be discovered, then Shaw Labs would no doubt be investigated immediately by the police. Initial projections had predicted the plan would unfold in just several hours but here he was two days later with nothing.

To his surprise, the phone suddenly rang. He leaned forward to pick it up, and instantly saw the name of the caller: Dr. Reginald Brooks. He nervously answered. Could it be...?

"This is Simon Shaw." he replied coldly, not wanting to give away his excitement.

"I'm going to cut to the chase Simon. I want to propose a merger for our companies. We can both benefit financially from this and make leaps and bounds in nano-technology. We both have our trade secrets and it's time to finally work together. What do you say?"

"I thought you'd never ask." Shaw said, his evil grin plastered on his face. There was nothing to doubt now - the plan was an utter success. There was no way in hell that Brooks would EVER have considered merging the companies, yet here he was, propositioning Shaw himself. "When should we meet to discuss?"

"Tomorrow, at noon. I'll have security escort you. I'm a bit preoccupied right now."
