Somebody's angry...

Suddenly, the door to your bedroom flies off its hinges. Venus hops up off of you and you see a very large man glowering at you from the doorway.

He is bent over, as if he can?t quite stand up straight, but is still at least 6?5?. Close- cropped hair sits over a face that is rough and filled with deep scars and crags. The metal tunic he wears does little to hide the muscles that look as if they were made from steel. He lumbers at you with astonishing speed for such clumsy looking movements. He grabs you by the throat and lifts you off of the bed so that your head touches the ceiling.

?What are you doing with my wife mortal?? the intruder demands in a deep raspy voice.

You struggle to answer, but his massive hand has cut of your air. Venus sighs and says, ?Put him down Vulcan.?

Vulcan?s eyes go between you and Venus several times before he grunts and drops you on the bed. Venus runs her hands across your body and asks if you?re all right. You manage to cough out a week yes and Venus goes over to Vulcan.

?Honey, I thought we went over this before,? Venus says as she touches the big god?s face, ?I have to do this if we want to survive.?

Vulcan lowers his head and says, ?Sorry love, but when I saw you laying on top of that mortal, I just lost it.?

?That?s why I told you to go to your shop and build something for the baby. It would get your mind off things.? Venus replies. ?You shouldn?t even be here.?

?I know?? Vulcan mumbles, ?I just that it?s bad enough when it?s another god, but a mortal?? He looks at you as you get off the bed, ?Nothing personal.?

You rub your throat, ?Don?t worry about it.? Vulcan, you think to yourself, God of the Forge and Venus?s husband. It?s ironic that the least attractive of the gods would end up marring the Goddess of Love. You rub your throat again and think that you?re lucky he didn?t accidentally kill you.

A thoughtful expression passes over Venus?s face. ?You know, since you?re here anyway, why don?t we make the most of it? I mean, if you join in it?s not cheating, is it? It?s been a very long time since a mortal and god did me at the same time.?

Vulcan laughs, ?Well, if the mortal has no objections, I am always ready to put the iron to the forge!?
