Some Kind Of Nest

The panther travels swiftly, eventually arriving at a small opening in a sheer cliff wall. It leaps inside and continues on, and after giving each other an affirmative nod, you and Steve follow right behind it.

The hole leads into a short, narrow corridor, one that quickly opens into a massive cavern, its walls covered in violently quivering egg-like growths of varying shapes, colours, and sizes. Further back, at the very deepest point in the cavern, is a transparent wall of some solid mucus-like substance with several people sitting behind it, all pacing about or lying hopelessly on the ground. All throughout the room, a veritable rainbow of latex animal men patrol back and forth, guarding the strange pods and apparently keeping a look-out for intruders like you.

You soon spot the panther you'd followed in standing near one of the "eggs", grasping its top and ripping it open. It spills out its contents: a fully-formed and fully matured red badger man, who stands up immediately, already prepared to serve whatever horrid unnatural forces are at work here. Perhaps this is how they're born? You'll think on it later, but for now, you're interested in the panther, who's travelled to the makeshift holding cell at the back of the room. It slices open the mucus wall, leaving a small incision through which it grabs the nearest human inside: an attractive young blond woman, kicking and screaming and biting in a feeble attempt at escape. The other captives try to **** their way through the opening, but it seals itself the instant the blond is out, leaving no hint of an exit.

The blond continues to struggle against the latex panther man, who pays her no mind as it drags her to the pod that had expelled the badger just moments before. Effortlessly, she's thrown into the open hole, and the panther grabs its edges and adheres them to each other, returning its previous egg-like shape. You can still see the woman through its translucent surface, but only for a few seconds, after which a thick, shiny pink liquid starts to fill it, eventually obscuring your view of anything inside and leaving that egg almost indistinguishable from all the others. It's on seeing this that you understand, and with that understanding comes a terrible revelation: the monsters aren't BORN here, they're MADE here, and made en masse. Already, there are more than enough pods with their victims struggling helplessly inside to account for the entire population of several city blocks, and there's no telling how many people were changed before you arrived.

This is no mere random occurrence, no strange but isolated incident. They're spreading too fast, and their numbers are too many. No, all of this can only mean one thing: an invasion.
