Snow

Snow had been a double amputee for as long as she could remember. As a newborn, her father had left her to die deep in the high mountains.

Snow had started to fall from the grey sky and found the baby just in time to save her life. The old farmer was the only reason Snow was still alive. She'd never complained about the legs and fingers she missed and was always happy to help with whatever she could do for him.

The farmer named her Snow, his little snowflake. He had lost a child to the cold himself, and for many years, he cared for Snow as if she were his own daughter.

Snow was 20 years old when suddenly her old man got worse and worse each day. Two years ago, he had insisted on giving her two mods with the money he'd managed to save during his life. But it hadn't been enough. Even though she'd wheeled herself to the marketplace every weekend, she had not been able to find a man willing to care for her. Nobody wanted to be stuck with a disabled girl. They were fine with taking her when she showed herself on the streets, but nobody wanted to be stuck with a disabled girl forever. Joining a hotel wasn't something any young woman normally considered, but everything was better than being a free bird.

Every day was uncertain. It wouldn't take long before the old farmer became unable to hold his claim over her. Snow had to find an owner before it was too late.

After months of fruitless negotiations with the townsmen, they became **** and accepted the offer one of the whore hotels in the city had made them. She would work for them as one of their whores, and they would provide her with food and shelter. If she did well, they said, it was even possible to become one of the elite workers. It was a very reasonable deal for a girl with as little value as Snow.

After an emotional discussion with the sick old farmer, Snow left her soul in the tiny hovel she'd grown up in and wheeled herself to the train station, where two men without beard were already waiting on her. They introduced themselves and took helped her with the steps. They wanted to know everything and kept asking her questions. Suddenly they were in the city and Snow regretted not having had the chance to look back at her home one last time. She would never see her mountains again.
