Chapter 4 by blankgame blankgame

Land near smaller race or larger race?

Smaller Race

You decide to land near the smaller race, figuring you were unlikely to be lynched by a smaller group. Sasha connected her senses to your feed and went out to explore. It seemed the safest option considering how little you knew about the inhabitants.

As she leaves the ship, you get your first close up look at the planet from her cameras. The area around your ship seems tropical, with many species of wildlife and plants.

After a while of walking, Sasha catches sight of the village. It seems to consist of pole houses with thatched roofs. All the buildings except for one consist of that same architecture and are rather small. One building is separate from the rest and seems to be made of stone. You figure this is a meeting place of some type, either for government or religious use.

Sasha finally catches sight of one of the humanoids. Humanoid is actually an understatement. They appear almost exactly human except for the color of their eyes and hair. Many of them seem to have purple irises. Their hair is a very pale blue, almost pastel like. They all seem to be in fantastic shape, leading you to believe that their culture prizes fitness highly. Their clothing seems suited to their tropical climate.

Suddenly, you hear Sasha's voice over the comms, "They seem to be speaking an entirely different language from any known. The universal translator will not help. However, if I could capture one, I might be able to analyze their brain as they speak."

You consider this. While you want to communicate with them, capturing a native will likely not endear you to them.

"Sir, are you still there?"

Finally, you reply, with some hesitation, "Go ahead and do it, but make sure it's one that's more outcast and less likely to be noticed. We don't have to keep them long, do we?".

"No longer than a day or two. The universal translator only needs basic context speech to analyze. With just that, we should be able to talk to them for the most part, except for any unusual words."

You begin prepping the spare room in the ship for your prisoner's arrival. You set out some of your finest remaining food. The goal is not to own a ****, but to make your prisoner feel like a guest. After all, it would not do for them to go back to their village and lead a raid on you.

After that, you decide to take a nap. Sasha will probably not capture someone during the daytime unless they wander far from the village.

Who does she bring back?
