Sit Next to Lily

You take the seat offered, keeping a careful eye on Lily's expression as you sit down. Her distinct lack of smugness is a sign that you're still safe... for now.

Class begins when the teacher walks in: An Elvish woman with a severe expression who mentions curtly that the class will be hosting a human student for the next semester and reminds everyone present that you're not to be eaten, physically or otherwise. You feel like you want to ask what she means by "otherwise," but she immediately begins by diving into the concepts and definitions of design principles.

If you were smarter, you might find some of the ideas really interesting - physical objects are compared to objects in code with properties and metatags - but if you were smart, you probably wouldn't be here right now.

Instead, you find your attention wandering to some of your classmates, and judging by how many you catch staring surreptitiously back at you, they're not exactly focused on their notes either.
