Chapter 4 by Storm Chyld Storm Chyld

What does Vincent do?

Shoot first!

If the soldier was on his side, he wouldn't have gunned down that woman. That in mind, Vincent shoved the gun up toward the man's face as it looked down into his coffin, and pulled the trigger. The back of the man's head exploded and his body fell away from him.

Quick as a cat, Vince shoved the woman off of him, and rolled out of the metal coffin onto the ground. Glancing down at the device, he saw he had been in some sort of stasis pod. It was almost a little to sci-fi for him, but then he was fighting aliens, so what the hell right? Glancing around the small room, he also realized he wasn't in a room at all. Rather he was inside of a vehicle, that had been flipped on its side. Looking out the open door, he could see a street, and another 'civilian' who had been gun down by the black soldier.

Looking over the dead armored soldier, he found its weapon had fallen or exploded into pieces. Definitely alien, the gray's loved to make sure their gear exploded whenever they died. Switching over to the dead woman he checked just in case, but frowned when he couldn't find a pulse. It was a long shot, but he had hoped someone could tell him what the fuck was going on.

Slung over the woman's back was a wakizashi. Vincent had a basic understanding of how to use swords, but he had never used this kind. Still, any weapon was better then no weapons, and his ammo was limited to whatever was in the pistol he had taken. Reaching down for the weapon, he glanced down at his left arm, and his heart stopped. His arm was silver. Or more concisely it was now made of solid metal. Steel, would be his guess. Unlike the cybernetic arms he had seen some soldiers use, this one was built to the muscular dimensions of his former arm. In fact it almost looked like his arm was covered in some sort of steel plating. Tapping the steel arm with his right hand he found it very solid. No flesh beneath it. He remembered just before he blacked out, the plasma tendril had consumed his left arm. It was, a horrifying experience, but one he didn't have time to cope with.

Suddenly Vince heard sirens, and he knew he was running out of time. Grabbing the sword he slung it over his back, and then crawled out of the large van. Glancing around he saw he was in a city, and it was nighttime. He didn't recognize this place, but it had neon lights everywhere, strange glass screens that acted as monitors. Even the cars parked here and there were all futuristic looking. If he didn't know better he would have thought he was on the reboot of Blade Runner or some shit.

The sirens were getting closer, and he had to figure out what to do. He had just shot what looked like a soldier. If those sirens were more of them, then he was in trouble. If not, he might get some answers as to what the hell was going on.

Does Vincent make a run for it?
