Chapter 14
by BriefcaseRonin
Does she talk to someone? Leave the village? Join the fight?
She talks to Janus
It had been a strange few days for Venus as she adjusted to life in the village. Before this, the Shadow Hunter had never met a centaur, had never known that they could live so peacefully, or even that they could take humans as lovers. That last fact had stuck with her for some strange reason, and she had always meant to ask Marna how such a thing could possibly worked, but had simply not built up the courage to do so yet. After all, how does someone even begin to ask someone the question of how they make love to their husband? It didn't seem to be any of her business, she thought.
After her thoughts drifted to the centaurs, Venus caught sight of Janus past the gathering throng and the bonfire. He did not seem to be joining his friends in the festivities. In fact, the huntress had noticed that the young man often seemed to be alone, but she had no idea as to why. She had meant to talk to him, to thank him, but he was never around when she was, almost as though he was avoiding her. However, now he was out in the open and she could easily corner him and speak to him. After all, if it hadn't been for him, she might very well still have been rutting with those satyrs or with that evil Kelpie, a **** to their wine.
Quickly pushing that thought aside, the young woman made her way around the fire and the partying centaurs and humans, heading directly towards Janus. In the light of the fire, she once again noted his similarities to his uncle Chiron. It was no difficult feat to recognize that he was a handsome young man, a fine catch for any woman. 'Centaur woman', Venus corrected herself.
"Hello Janus," Venus said softly, catching the young man's attention. He seemed surprised by her presence, looking around more than a little nervously as he finally responded, "Hello, Venus. I hope my uncle and his wife have been treating you well."
"Very well, yes. But I was hoping I might be able to thank you for rescuing me. If it weren't for you, well, I'd rather not think about what might've happened." She shuddered at the very thought of it, a strange feeling running through her at the flashes of memory of her interactions with the satyr, their lips upon her breasts, the young one's warm cock sliding into her hungry mouth.
"Well.. I.. uh.." Janus frowned, shaking his head, "It wasn't all me. Raven was there as well to assist me. Besides, it was you who managed to resist the wine and fight them off first. There's really no need for thanks."
Pushing down the disturbing thoughts, Venus focused upon Janus again, her confusion only growing. He seemed to be a proud sort of warrior, why would he not accept praise from another for his actions? The other centaur seemed to have no problem with boasting of their accomplishments, "Still, whether its need or not, I thank you for saving me, Janus."
At that, the young warrior rose and quickly hurried back towards his own hut.
Why did Janus run? Does Venus go after him?
