She has messages

As she squinted down at the phone Rachel saw that she had messages. The little envelope blinked until she brought a trembling finger to it, hoping for some re-assuring message from her sister.

Several messages showed on her screen, surprising her. She recognized one of the names from back home, and popped it open, seeing a happy message from her friend Liz wishing her all the best and asking if she'd met any stars yet. Rachel smiled, typing out a quick reply of 'not yet'.

The next message made her pulse speed up for a moment as her sister's voice played. Judging by the background music drowning her own Ceci must have been at a concert or something, a horrible screeching playing in the background, drowned out only by what sounded like someone being mauled by a tiger.

Hoping the next message might provide clarity she tapped on it without looking to see who it was from.
