Chapter 4 by SpiralFelix SpiralFelix

What does Mackenzie decide to do?

She continues with her hike but takes a tumble

Mackenzie shook her head, looking away from the tempting water and breaking that train of thought. What was she thinking? She couldn't take a chance like that! How humiliating would if be if someone stumbled across her while she was naked in the water! Or even worse, someone stole her clothes while she swam... Mackenzie shuddered at the thought. The redhead turned back towards the trail, opting instead to continue on with her hike. She could always come back to the stream tomorrow with her swimsuit on under her clothes after all! Mackenzie resumed her brisk pace along the trail, slowly working her way back uphill.

Mackenzie followed the trail for another 30 minutes. It was all uphill, and the last 10 minutes of the hike were particularly steep. So, by the time Mackenzie made it to a small clearing on the very top of the large hill, she was ready for a solid break. She found a nearby log on the ground, and meandered over to take a seat and enjoy the view. However, as she placed her lovely rear down on the bark of the fallen wood, it cracked and crumpled under her weight. The log was apparently much older than it had seemed, and was already significantly breaking down. Mackenzie fell backwards, tumbling to the ground behind the wood with a brief cry of surprise.

This, in and of itself, was certainly a bit of bad luck. But in typical fashion for Mackenzie, her luck was about to turn horrendously bad. Because, just behind the log, where the treeline began, the ground followed a steep descent down the large hill. And so, rather than falling backwards onto level ground, Mackenzie suddenly found herself falling backwards down a steep slope, filled with thick trees and bushes.

Mackenzie screamed in surprise and fear as she suddenly found herself rolling wildly out of control down the hillside. She reached out, trying to grasp onto anything she could, and was buffeted by an onslaught of prickly branches and bushes all over her body. The needles and thorns tore at her clothes and skin as she tumbled through them. She gasped as a thick branch hit her square in the face, leaving the redhead slightly dazed as her descent continued. Until suddenly, she came to an abrupt halt. Her backpack had become ensnared in a thick bush, yanking Mackenzie to a stop almost halfway down the steep hillside.

"Ow..." Mackenzie winced as she felt several cuts and scrapes along her body. She slowly stood up, freeing herself from the tangled backpack. "Not exactly the best way down the hill. But at least it-"

Suddenly, the unsteady dirt beneath her feet crumbled, dropping the redhead down the hillside once again. Mackenzie shrieked as she bounced through a particularly dense patch of thorny bushes and vegetation, her clothing taking the brunt of the damage. However, this time there was no reprieve. Mackenzie didn't stop until she finally landed at the bottom of the large hill, finally rolling to a stop at the mostly level ground. Mackenzie was now covered with dozens of small scrapes. Luckily none of them were deep or serious, but they still stung as the girl unsteadily got to her feet. Her wardrobe, however, had fared far worse.

How much of Mackenzie's outfit remained? And what kind of shape were her remaining clothes in?
