Chapter 8
by FallenSaint
Which way does Venus go?
She chooses the woods
Venus decided to take the woodland route. Going over the bridge could take longer and she wanted to be far away from this area as soon as possible. She still couldn't believe that she had allowed herself to not only be **** to drink the Kappa's cum, but that she had also enjoyed it and had almost **** her defeated enemy. She felt a mixture of shame and excitement as the memory of its large cock hung before her face.
She went to the pool of water at the base of the waterfall and washed her mouth out. She knew that it wouldn't help much, considering she had swallowed all of the kappa's cum, but she still felt better for it. With that chore done, she prepared to leave. The sky was already begining to darken before she entered the woodlands.
She taken a path that allowed her to follow the river, planning to make camp in an open area near the water so that when she cooked, she would have a ready supply of water for her stew that night. Had her mind not been still bothered by the events of her latest mission, she might have noticed the dark shape following her in the water.
Night settled upon the woods quicker than she had expected and Venus found herself unprepared. She struggled to light a fire, but working in the dark had made things hard. She had foraged for good wood and had only found small sticks and dried leaves.
Just as she got a small spark started, she heard a high pitched noise coming from somewhere in the woods around her. She grabbed her sword and her backpack and slowly began creeping into the woods, searching for the source of the noise.
As she got closer, she could tell the noise was some kind of flute or pipe instrument being played. It wasn't long before she could see the glow of fire light. She came to a clearing and found three short creatures, half man and half goat. Their lower bodies where furry and had slender legs that ended in hooves. Coming out of their heads were horns that twisted and turned into circlular shapes. Of the three, one, the youngest looking since he was the only one without a beard, was playing an instrument made out of six pipes of varying lengths. The second creature was cooking a large piece of meat over a cooking fire and humming along to the tune played by the first.
Even though seeing the food made her mouth water, it was the third creature that caught her attention the most. He was taller than his companions with arms so thick and muscular that she was certain he could have snapped a tree by hugging it. His large rough hands were setting wooden plates on a table made from a large tree stump. He looked up and saw her and his shaggy face broke into a wide toothy smile. He waved her to come over, indicating the table with one of his hands. She noticed then that there were four places set at the table, enough for the three creatures that she now realized were satyrs, and herself. She cautiously came into the clearing, putting away her sword and the two older Satyers went about seating her. None of them spoke, but she saw a happy look pass between the three beast men before the large one pulled a crude bottle the other side of the table. He poured a dark red liquid into a wooden goblet and offered it to her with a mischivious smile.
Venus reached for the goblet as she tried to remember something important about Satyrs. She knew she was forgetting something, but the memory was being evasive.
From the woodlands, two sets of eyes watched with interest as the shadow hunter sat down to dinner witht he Satyrs. The larger of the two, a young centaur, put an arrow to his bow and started to draw back. An arm suddenly blocked his path and the centaur looked over into the glowing red eyes of his companion, how simply shook his head.
"If we don't step in, she could be lose herself in their trickery."
"We have another goal Janus. She may be useful, but that is only if she can overcome this obstacle. If she can't, then it isn't our problem. Your uncle is trusting us to destroy the Kelpie and his agents before he can become a problem. Valdin and Lycaon are both preparing for war and our Kelpie friend wants to become a major player in the coming days. We can't let that happen. Or is she more important?"
Janus lowered his eyes and slowly took away the tension on the string of the bow. He hoped the woman would survive the night. A shadow hunter would be a good ally in the war to come.
Does she remember the secrets of the Satyers or drink the wine?
