She's complicated.

"You're Sam, right?" Kara starts. "The doc filled me in. I'll be taking over as your advisor for this year I guess." She doesn't seem very interested in the situation, probably just in it for the money, same as you. Kara receives a similar looking envelope from the officer behind the desk and, together, you exit the building.

You follow just behind Kara as she walks you straight through campus. She doesn't have very much to say to you, but she does explain her position with everything. "Look, they offered me a buttload of scholarship money if I agreed to be a backup advisor on the very low chance that someone like you came along. They also set me up with a two person dorm for myself. Though it was technically meant to be shared with an advisee, I didn't think they'd really end up calling on me to do it. Yeah, I took that company's offer my first semester, I couldn't pass up on the money and I already felt like I was really a girl. But, being in that body, it felt so alien, I always felt like I was pretending to be someone I really wasn't. When they asked me to renew, I just couldn't.

"After trying to explain my feelings to them, they suggested switching my dose for something more like **** hormone replacement therapy that they were just starting trials on. I agreed. Six months later, here I am, passing as a girl even though it's my male body." As she ends her speech, you cross into your dormitory building and you find your dorm room. It's not very big, basically a hallway lined with furniture on both sides. Interestingly enough, as Kara shows you, you have a personal bathroom just across the hall from your dorm that you need your key to open. You guess the school isn't quite as progressive as they try to look.

"Look, Sam," Kara starts again.

"Actually..." You reflexively butt in. "It's Samantha." You've had to deal with people trying to shorten your name since back in middle school.

"Sure. You're probably weirded out by me and your body, but there are some serious upsides to losing your old genitals. First, no periods. Probably the biggest reason I hated being a real girl. Second, haven't you ever wished you could pee standing up and without taking off your pants? Seriously, having to sit down was awful."

While Kara talks, you start unloading your small amount of stuff. You stuff your clothes into the wardrobe and slap the sheets you brought onto your bed. Unfortunately you couldn't rationalize bringing any blankets or pillows with you given their size, so you'll definitely need to head to the store soon, preferably today. First though, you definitely feel the need for the bathroom.

After you enter the bathroom, you lock the door behind you. You decide to try what Kara was talking about, and stand in front of the toilet and lower your pants a bit. You're **** to look at your unsightly penis. You decide you can't handle this right now and sit down instead. You use one hand to hold everything down and the other to cover your face. Even though you're alone, you still feel embarrassed.

Finishing up, you head back into your dorm. Kara is lying on her stomach on her bed while two[handing her phone. She doesn't pay you any mind. You grab your purse and fish through it. You find the envelope you received as well as your tampons and bill control pills. You toss both of them in one of the drawers of your desk, knowing that you won't need them. The envelope, however, is more interesting. Inside, you find a check for your stipend for this semester. Using your phone, you have it deposited in a jiffy. You grab your purse and head out, mentioning to Kara that you have some shopping to do. She doesn't bother with any real response, leaving you to your devices in a strange new city.

You hop on the bus that you know will take you down to one of the shopping centers of the town; you did your research before arriving, after all.
